AnyMP4 iPhone Data Recovery pairs direct iPhone/iPad scanning with iTunes and iCloud backup extraction, and the Windows and Mac plans below currently include a 50% discount. It is designed to preview and recover supported messages, photos, contacts, notes, call history, app data and media without forcing a full-device restore,
Quick Summary
AnyMP4 iPhone Data Recovery uses three recovery sources: a connected iOS device, local iTunes/Finder backup data and iCloud. Its main advantage over a whole-device backup restore is selective preview and export—you can inspect detected categories and save chosen items to the computer instead of rolling the entire phone back to an older state.
- Best for
- deleted messages and iMessages · contacts · call history · photos and videos · notes · app data · selective iTunes/iCloud backup extraction
- Platforms
- Windows and Mac editions · iOS 6 or later and iPadOS 13 or later in the current technical references, including iOS/iPadOS 26
- License
- 1 Year / 1 computer · Lifetime / 1 computer, sold separately for Windows and Mac
- Key limitation
- Deleted-data recovery is not guaranteed: overwritten data may no longer be recoverable, and direct scanning depends on the iOS device being recognized and accessible by the computer

Can This Software Do What I Need?
Start by identifying where the missing data may still exist. A file still in Apple's Recently Deleted area, a readable iPhone with no backup, an encrypted local backup and a lost phone with an iCloud backup require different recovery routes.
My deleted photo or note is still inside Apple's Recently Deleted area
Built-in recovery before paid software
Better fitUse the built-in recovery route first. AnyMP4's own photo and Notes guides document roughly a 30-day Recently Deleted window, so buying recovery software is unnecessary while the item remains recoverable there.
I have no usable backup and want to scan the iPhone for deleted messages or media
Direct device scan
ConditionalRecover from iOS Device can scan a connected device and preview detected current/deleted data. Whether a deleted item is found depends on what remains on the device and whether its storage has been overwritten.
I have an iTunes or Finder backup but only need a few files
Selective local-backup extraction
SupportedAnyMP4 lists the local backups available on the computer, scans the selected backup and lets you preview categories before exporting chosen files. This avoids restoring the entire backup to the iPhone just to retrieve selected messages, notes or media.
My phone is lost or unavailable, but I have iCloud data
Cloud-based recovery without the device
SupportedRecover from iCloud can sign in to the account, complete two-factor verification when required and scan selected iCloud data or backup content. The recovered items are saved to the computer rather than requiring the missing device to be connected.
I need call history, FaceTime data or Safari history from an iOS 13+ device
Encrypted Scan requirement
ConditionalThe current tutorial says these three categories require Encrypted Scan when the device has no encrypted iTunes backup. Continuing without that scan omits those categories from the device scan.
I need deleted Facebook Messenger or other supported chat data
App-message recovery
Verify firstThe current reference includes Messenger, WhatsApp, Line, Viber and Kik export categories, and AnyMP4 documents Messenger scanning on iPhone. Because app storage and sync behavior can change, use the free scan first and confirm the exact conversation/category appears before paying specifically for chat recovery.
The iPhone is stuck in recovery mode or needs an iOS repair
Operating-system repair vs file recovery
Different taskAnyMP4's own recovery-mode guide routes system repair to its separate iOS System Recovery function. iPhone Data Recovery is aimed at retrieving files; it is not the product to buy solely for firmware repair or exiting system states.
I forgot the passcode and want to factory-reset or unlock the iPhone
Passcode removal and reset
Different taskAnyMP4's factory-reset guide uses iPhone Unlocker, iTunes/Finder or Apple's own erase workflow for this job. Those routes can erase device data, so they should not be confused with selective data recovery.
How It Works
All three recovery modes end with preview and selective export, but the access step changes depending on whether the source is the physical iOS device, a local backup or iCloud.
Scan an iPhone or iPad Directly
- Open AnyMP4 iPhone Data Recovery, select Recover from iOS Device and connect the iPhone or iPad over USB.
- On iOS 11 or later, unlock the device, tap Trust and confirm the device passcode when prompted.
- Start the scan and wait for the detected data categories to populate.
- Preview the relevant category, select the files you need and click Recover to save them to the computer.
Extract Data from an iTunes/Finder Backup
- Choose Recover from iTunes Backup File in AnyMP4 iPhone Data Recovery.
- Select the local backup that should contain the missing data and start scanning it.
- If the backup is encrypted, enter its encryption password when requested.
- Preview the categories and export only the selected files to the computer.
Recover Selected Items from iCloud
- Select Recover from iCloud in AnyMP4 iPhone Data Recovery and sign in with the required Apple ID credentials.
- Complete Apple's verification-code step when two-factor authentication is enabled.
- Choose a specific data type such as Contacts, Notes, Reminders or Photos, or select the relevant backup content to scan.
- Review the results and recover the chosen files to the computer.
Product Interface & Workflow
The interface keeps source selection separate from the scan results, so the first decision is where the recoverable data is likely to be stored before you start previewing individual categories.
Compatibility & Coverage
AnyMP4's current reference pages cover modern iPhones and iPads while separating direct-device categories from the smaller data set documented for iTunes/iCloud backup recovery.
| Area | Current documented coverage | Buyer note |
|---|---|---|
| Windows | Windows 11 / 10 / 8.1 / 8 / 7 | Separate Windows product and license. |
| Mac | Mac OS X 10.7 or later, including macOS Tahoe 26 in the current Mac reference | Separate Mac product and license. |
| iPhone | Current device list reaches iPhone 17 Pro Max / 17 Pro / Air / 17 and extends back through older iPhone generations | Direct recoverability still depends on the data type and storage state, not only device compatibility. |
| iPad / iPod | iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, iPad Pro and multiple iPod families | Current OS reference lists iPadOS 13+ through iPadOS 26. |
| Direct iOS-device recovery | 10 text categories + 10 media categories | Includes messages/iMessages, contacts, call history, notes, WhatsApp, App Documents, photos, attachments, voicemail and app media categories. |
| iTunes / iCloud recovery | 9 text categories + 4 media categories in the current reference | Backup recovery has a different category set from direct device scanning. |
| Chat-app export | WhatsApp · Line · Viber · Messenger · Kik to HTML/CSV; listed attachment types export to media/document formats | Presence in the format table does not guarantee a deleted chat still exists to be recovered. |
Features & Capabilities
The useful feature set is centered on finding specific files and exporting them in practical formats instead of treating every data-loss event as a reason to overwrite the current phone with an old backup.
Messages, Contacts & Call Data
- Text messages and iMessages with HTML/CSV export
- Contacts with CSV, HTML and VCF export
- Call history and reminders with documented HTML/PNG output
- Calendar export to HTML/ICS and Safari History to HTML
Photos, Video & Audio
- Photo Library, Photo Stream and app-photo categories
- App Video and common MOV/M4V/MP4/AVI/3GP export formats
- Voice Memo recovery to M4A
- App Audio formats including AAC, AIFF, M4A and MP3
Notes, Documents & Attachments
- Notes and supported note attachments
- App Documents including TXT, DOC/DOCX, XLS/XLSX and PDF
- Message and supported chat-app attachments
- Category-level preview before export
Selective Recovery from Backups
- Choose one local iTunes/Finder backup rather than restoring all backups
- Preview individual backup categories before selecting files
- Recover from iCloud using account verification when required
- Save chosen results to a local folder on the computer
Important Conditions & Limitations
Data recovery depends on what remains in device storage or backups. AnyMP4 itself cautions that no recovery result is 100% guaranteed because deleted data can be overwritten.
New Device Activity Can Reduce Recoverability
Deleted information can be lost permanently after its storage area is reused. If the missing data is important, avoid unnecessary photos, app installs, downloads and other writes before checking whether the scan can still locate it.
Encrypted Backups Still Require the Encryption Password
When the iTunes/Finder backup was created with encryption, the current AnyMP4 tutorial requires the encrypted-backup password during scanning. A recovery license does not bypass an unknown backup password.
Some Direct Photo Results May Be Thumbnails
The current technical reference explicitly warns that recovered photos can be available as thumbnails or images depending on the recovery source/device. Do not assume every deleted photo scan will return the original full-resolution file.
A Dead or Missing Device Changes the Recovery Source
Direct scanning needs a detectable iPhone or iPad. For a lost, stolen or unusable device, the software can only work from recoverable data already present in an accessible local or iCloud backup.
Factory Reset Is Not a Recovery Shortcut
AnyMP4's reset guide shows that passcode-removal and factory-reset workflows can erase the device. If the goal is to preserve or recover missing files, confirm the available backups and recovery path before using an erase/reset procedure.
Free Trial / Free Version
AnyMP4 provides Windows and Mac free downloads, and its own Messenger recovery guide recommends using the free trial to scan first and see whether the lost data is actually found before purchasing.
| Trial / purchase point | Current documented status | Purchase relevance |
|---|---|---|
| Windows free download | Available from the current product page | Use it to check whether the device connects and whether the needed category appears in the scan. |
| Mac free download | Available from the current product page | Useful for checking Mac/device compatibility before purchasing the Mac license. |
| Trial vs PRO | The current tutorial displays a trial-versus-PRO comparison during registration | The supplied vendor pages do not publish a complete current export/recovery-limit table, so no additional trial restriction is assumed here. |
| Recovery verification | Vendor guidance recommends a free scan before buying when recovery is uncertain | This is especially useful because deleted-data recovery cannot be guaranteed after overwriting. |
| Money-back statement | 30-day money-back guarantee advertised on the current product page | Eligibility remains subject to AnyMP4's current purchase/refund terms. |
